These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Yaara customer app, the Yaara Counsellor app, the website https://meetyaara.com and related services (the "Service") provided by Uma Shankar, an individual (sole proprietor) trading as Yaara ("Yaara", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Yaara is, and is not
Yaara is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent listeners and counsellors ("Counsellors") for paid voice and video calls and chat, billed per minute in coins. Counsellors are independent users of the platform, not our employees, agents or representatives.
Yaara is a companionship and listening service. It is not therapy, counselling in the clinical sense, medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not an emergency service. Nothing said on a call or in a chat should be treated as professional advice or as a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are in danger, thinking of harming yourself or someone else, or in a mental-health emergency, stop using the Service and contact local emergency services (112) or a helpline such as Tele-MANAS (14416) immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, resident in India or otherwise legally able to use the Service, and able to enter a binding contract. One account per person. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your Google sign-in secure. We may ask for proof of age and may close accounts we believe belong to minors.
3. Coins, billing and refunds
- Customers buy coin packages through Razorpay, our payment processor. Prices are shown in INR and include applicable taxes.
- Coins are a prepaid balance for use within the Service. They are not money, are not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and have no value outside Yaara.
- Calls are billed per started minute at the Counsellor's rate shown before you call. Billing starts when both sides are connected and stops when the call ends. A call ends automatically when your balance no longer covers the next minute.
- Gifts and paid messages are charged at the price shown when you send them.
- New accounts may receive free welcome coins. Promotional coins are used first, cannot be refunded or paid out, and may be withdrawn if abused.
- Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy: coins already used are not refundable; failed or uncredited payments are refunded or credited when reported within 7 days.
- Prices and rates may change. Changes never apply to a call already in progress.
4. Counsellors
Counsellors are bound additionally by the Counsellor Agreement. In summary: you must complete identity verification (KYC) and be approved before you can go online; you earn the per-minute share shown in the app; earnings are paid out on request to your verified bank account or UPI after applicable deductions; you are an independent user responsible for your own taxes; you must not offer medical diagnosis or treatment, must not take payment outside the Service, and must not move conversations off-platform.
5. Your conduct
You must follow the Community Guidelines. In particular you must not: harass, threaten, exploit or discriminate against anyone; share or solicit sexual content; use the Service for any illegal purpose; record calls without the other person's consent; impersonate others; attempt to defraud users or the payment system; share contact details to take conversations off-platform; or interfere with the Service. Violations can lead to warnings, withheld payouts, or permanent account termination, and may be reported to authorities.
6. Reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report or block any user from a call, chat or profile. Blocking stops calls, chats and gifts between you both. We review reports, may read reported chats, and may suspend accounts while we investigate. We are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000; we do not pre-screen conversations but act on reports and on what we are required to act on by law.
7. Your content and our intellectual property
You keep ownership of what you write and share. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, transmit and display it as needed to run the Service and to review reports. You must have the right to share anything you post. The Yaara name, logo, apps and website are our property; you may not copy, modify or reverse-engineer them.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, including our compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Calls are never recorded by us.
9. Suspension and termination
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account (not during a live call). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, the Guidelines or the law, or that present a safety, fraud or legal risk, with notice where practicable. On termination, unused coins and unpaid earnings are handled under sections 3 and 4 and the Refund Policy, and records are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that a Counsellor will be available, that calls will be uninterrupted or of a particular quality, or that any outcome will result from a conversation. We may change, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for the statements, advice or conduct of Counsellors or other users; we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss; and our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service, including claims by other users.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any rights you have under consumer-protection law, the courts at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Before going to court, please raise the matter with our Grievance Officer (Grievance Redressal); we resolve most issues within 30 days.
