How to get started

    Install the Counsellor app

    Sign in with Google and tell us your languages, topics you are comfortable with, and a short bio.

    Complete KYC

    Verify your identity with Aadhaar or PAN and add your bank account or UPI ID for payouts. Encrypted and never shown to customers.

    Get approved

    Our team reviews every application. Most are reviewed within 2 working days.

    Go online and earn

    Set your per-minute rate, toggle Online, and take calls. Request a payout any time from your earnings wallet.

What you get

Fair, transparent earnings

  • Per-minute pay. Your share of every billed minute is credited instantly to your earnings wallet, at the rate shown in the app before you go online.
  • Weekly payouts. Request a payout to your verified bank account or UPI. We process requests weekly.
  • You set your hours. No shifts, no minimums. Online means available; offline means no calls.
  • Gifts and ratings. Customers can send gifts during a call and rate you afterwards. Higher ratings mean more visibility.
  • Safety tools. Block or report any customer in one tap. Your phone number is never shared.

Who we are looking for

Good listeners, first

You do not need a degree to be a listener on Yaara. You need patience, empathy and the ability to hold a respectful conversation. Trained counsellors and psychology graduates are welcome and can mention their qualifications in their profile.

You must

  • be 18 or older and resident in India;
  • pass identity verification (Aadhaar or PAN);
  • never give medical, psychiatric or legal advice, and refer anyone in crisis to emergency services;
  • keep every conversation on the platform and never ask for payment outside Yaara;
  • follow the Community Guidelines.

How much can I earn?

Your earnings depend on your rate and the minutes you talk. The app shows your exact per-minute share before you go online, and a live counter during every call.

When are payouts made?

Payout requests are processed weekly to your verified bank account or UPI ID. Payouts may be held while a dispute or fraud review is open.

Do customers see my phone number?

Never. Calls run inside the app. Customers see your display name, photo, languages, rating and rate.

Am I an employee of Yaara?

No. Counsellors are independent users of the platform and responsible for their own taxes. See the Counsellor Agreement.
